Supporters
We would like to thank the following for their invaluable support
1
The Plunkett Foundation
The Plunkett Foundation provides practical advice, business support and training to help communities establish and run innovative and inclusive community businesses that make a positive impact for local people. They have been instrumental in getting our project off the ground and continue to provide invaluable help along the way. We unreservedly recommend their services to any fledgling community action group.
2
Barrow Gurney Parish Council
The Barrow Gurney Parish Council provided the impetus to the Free the Motto campaign by taking the initiative to register the Prince’s Motto as an Asset of Community Value. Subsequently they supported the initial stages of the project by making a very welcome grant of £2,000.

The White Horse Stonesfield
The White Horse Stonesfield is a pub that has been saved from permanent closure by a team of committed locals. We contacted them when we first set up our Steering Group as they were in the latter stages of buying the property and reopening as a community pub. The management team were very helpful and invited us to visit to go through a detailed question and answer session at The White Horse. At this meeting they gave us invaluable advice that helped us take the first steps on our journey.

The Waldegrave Arms, East Harptree
The Waldegrave Arms East Harptree is a more local pub that has recently been going through the process of establishment as a community owned free house. The Management Team at “The Waldy” have been great supporters and have passed on a great deal of knowledge from their own experience of the process. The team continue to take an interest in our progress and one of their number was kind enough to take the time to address our Public Meeting in the Village Hall.

Sadik Al-Hassan
MP for North Somerset
Sadik Al-Hassan has been a very supportive North Somerset MP ever since his victory in the election earlier this year and responded to an early invitation to one our gatherings in the Village Hall. Since that time he has become an active supporter of our aims and we were the very first constituents to meet him at a constituency surgery. He was unable to join us at our Public Meeting due to commitment in Parliament, but was kind enough to record a video message of support which you can access on this website.

Annemieke Waite
North Somerset District Councillor Winford Ward
Annemieke Waite is our North Somerset District Councillor and she has been interested in and supportive of our campaign throughout. We were glad to welcome her to our Public Meeting where she addressed the attendees with a very positive message of support.
